I have been feeling sort of stuck for the past week. Has that ever
happened to you?
It is a feeling that can come and go from time to time. The very
nature of its sudden appearance and subsequent disappearance
makes me realize that we can all suffer a bit from the “overwhelm factor”.
It's as if I fall i...Read Full Post »

Before we say goodbye to April 2013, I thought a bit about transitions....winter into spring. Seemed such a slow transition this year. We experienced a weekend of warmth which was just a tease as we plunged back into frigid temperatures.
But, at last, the sun has been shining more consistently, the daffodils and tulips have made their annual appearance, and it seemsas though the transition is, at last, complete....Read Full Post »

Well, friends. I must apologize. I am so very overdue with a post on this study/blog that I am ashamed of myself. Not because you won’t stop by anymore. No. Not because God will be disappointed in me. No.
I am ashamed because I haven’t done a very good job of walking the walk that I’ve been talking about! I hope you will forgive me!
A Kingdom Citizen, as defined in my pa...Read Full Post »

As I was enjoying a brisk morning walk earlier today in 27 degrees (Yikes!), my prayer partner and dear friend shared an encouraging picture of relationship with the Lord Jesus that we could all benefit from, so here it is.
As usual, these little gems seem so simple and so obvious, but we need to be reminded to actually IMPLEMENT them in our lives to derive benefit and grace.

Got a call an hour ago. My Aunt Marie, age 92 is on a vent after a sudden bout with pneumonia.
Life can change in an instant. She, even at 92, had her strength, health, mind and heart. We were very close as she lived with my mom and dad for 10 years, and enjoyed being another grandma to our oldest son, Jordan.
My cousin, Rosemarie, the only child, doesn't have the comfort of knowing Jesus. She is scared, and told me Aunt Marie w...Read Full Post »

I am praying for a sweet friend who has cancer, and will undergo surgical lumpectomy tomorrow.
How do you pray when illness strikes, or some other hardship which seems to be out of your control?
My natural inclination is to pray for complete physical, emotional, and spirtual healing. My natural desire is to see someone I love totally well and without pain. Or to see that ugly, nasty, hardship magically disappear.
But, I have...Read Full Post »

Sometimes life is just so not fair! I rekindled 2 friendships on facebook this morning.
The first brought back memories of childhood. She was a friend from school who lived down the street. Her older sister and I were in the same class and she was a pal to my younger sister.
So, there we were, all hanging out together through the formative years, grade school into high school where time and moving parted us. Well, I should say, distanced ...Read Full Post »

Who do you trust?
A straightforward question. An ordinary, even trite question. Nonetheless, one that challenges us for a thoughtful, sincere reply. Because trust is a big word. Who can you trust with your very life, your deepest needs?
We hear it all the time in very common usage : Trust your instincts, trust your mother, trust the government (?), trust your pastor, trust your friends.
