New Year, New You, New Habits, New JOY
Psalm 85:8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to their foolish ways.
Before we get all caught up in what goals “we” will set for th...Read Full Post »

O Come Let Us Adore Him…..Thoughts on Adoration
Where do you fit into this picture?
Adore: to reverence with supreme respect
To acknowledge the excellence of, to render homage,
To magnify in worship, to fall on one’s face,
“kiss the ground...Read Full Post »

It is Advent. This is called the Season of Hope.
Do you have some of that? What is it you hope for? Health, wealth, love, success, growth, unity, peace, safety, reconciliation, healed relationships?
What exactly is “hope” and how does that integrate with our faith in Jesus Christ, the “Hope of Nations”? Matthew 12:15-21
Oh my, I can already ...Read Full Post »

Oh, during this Thanksgiving week we can praise God for the Wonder of His Love, Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Thank Him for the forgiveness we have and that we are clothed in His righteousness.
We praise and thank God for the gift of His Holy Spirit indwelling every believer, stirring us to know the ways of God and to walk in them. Thank Him for the gift of Faith reigning in our hearts, and His power at work in us.

God’s Word calls us to more love and more power in His kingdom. How many of us are believing and doing the “greater things” Jesus mentioned in John 14:12? How many of us even have the desire to do so? It is so much easier to live on the surface.
Well, I pointed out last time that spiritual things seem a bit scary, and it is a choice. When we immerse ourselves in the awesome, unstoppable power of H...Read Full Post »

Forgive me, dear readers! I have been absent. I have been wrestling in my spirit with these things we are pondering about the spirit of power resident in all believers. I feel so restless, so compelled to understand and operate as deeply in the Holy Spirit as He directs.
I have read commentaries, studied scripture, listened to different pastors and teachers, and have gone round and round with the concepts of healing miracles a...Read Full Post »

UPDATE ON MIKE: A conference and exam with two of the doctors on the surgical team is scheduled for October 25. Halleluia! God has begun to answer prayer. Is this a sign, a wonder? I believe God is protecting Mike from a premature surgery by making time for further investigation. I am also praising God that during this time of further waiting, we can wait on Him who loves Mike with an everlasting love. Please pray that the Father wi...Read Full Post »

UPDATE: Mike’s surgery was postponed at the last minute due to a problem assembling all of the surgical team. So, God is up to something!! His timing is perfect. Thanks for praying and please continue to pray for Mike’s faith to be solidified. I will update you again when there is news.
So, let’s get on to exploring God’s Word about healing, signs and wonders. The reason I am takin...Read Full Post »

As I was praying for Mike today, (see yesterday’s post) praising God for His constant faithfulness to us, even not-yet-believers, the words of a couple of psalms came to mind. They brought me comfort and strengthened my spirit within me to believe God, and to lay aside the doubt and fear which are the tools of the enemy....Read Full Post »

Today I am standing in the gap for someone I love. (Ez 22:30)
I am his prayer warrior, along with many others. I am standing on the promises of Christ for him, because he cannot do it for himself, that God would be merciful, heal and deliver the body and the soul of my loved one.
Moses prayed and interceded for adulterous, idol-worshiping Israel in the desert; Jesus showed His glory, power and merc...Read Full Post »

“Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief!” prayed the father of the demoniac boy in the gospel of Mark 9:24. It is an honest prayer. It is often my own prayer. Sometimes it is a desperate and sincere prayer to see a move of God in a desperate situation.
God’s word of truth says in James 5:16 that “the effective, fervent prayer of the righteous man accomplishes much.” God has said it, ...Read Full Post »

This week has been bubbling over with news coverage of the 10th anniversary dedication of the Ground Zero Memorial on Sunday. It has been chilling to watch broadcasts of that fateful day. It is a day which marks most everyone’s lives. We remember where we were when we heard the World Trade Center had been hit and the horror unfolded. Our national grief joined those who lost their loved ones.

Well, friends. I must apologize. I am so very overdue with a post on this study/blog that I am ashamed of myself. Not because you won’t stop by anymore. No. Not because God will be disappointed in me. No.
I am ashamed because I haven’t done a very good job of walking the walk that I’ve been talking about! I hope you will forgive me!

This study in Kingdom Living finds me looking more closely at the power of our words when they are lining up with God’s Word. We are probably aware of, and perhaps have experienced personally, the power of a condemning word to create low self-esteem or lack ofconfidence.
Psychologists have revealed the fact that a child can potentially become what he hears. For example, a child who repeatedly hears destructive comments l...Read Full Post »

When you look in the mirror do you see someone who needs to start a new life? You might tell me you see a body that is overweight and skin beginning to show its age.
Whose voice do you hear? You may hear a voice whispering insults such as "underachiever who will never amount to anything". Perhaps you hear "over-achiever" or "workaholic" and feel guilty about how you manage your time and relationships. Some folks hear the words "ugly and worthless".Read Full Post »
