Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me bless His holy name!
If ever there is a need for discipline to apply the truth that you know about the Lord, and standing on His promises, it is during a great trial.
Our journey with our son, Ethan, is 2 weeks old. During these two weeks of recovery from a stroke, the waves of grief have been subdued by speaking forth the praise of God who is faithful and true.
In the darkest moments, our faith holds us firm. He will not let your foot be moved. Stand firm and see the glory of God. We have most definitely been challenged to walk by faith, not by sight. We have believed God, being fully persuaded, as was Abraham, that God is able to do what He says He will do.
He has promised rewards to those He has called righteous because of His blood. He has defeated the enemy, removing our transgressions and our illnesses and crowing us with lovingkindness and compassion.
His mercies are indeed new every morning. Capturing every thought and subjecting it to the Lordship of Christ our Redeemer, our Healer, our Provider is a matter of daily practice.
We keep our eyes upon Jesus who promises to give us perfect peace. It is an awesome thing to rest in the peace of God.
Ethan has now moved into a rehab facility for children for three weeks of intensive therapy. Glory to God! Healing is on the way. He can speak, eat, use the toilet, walk, remember, play the piano, read, chat on Facebook, and has a strong, determined spirit which still breaks out in laughter, jokes and wisecracks. Praise the Lord!
In the journey we have the assurance that the battle belongs to the Lord. He is with us in it. And we continue to fight each battle until the war is won. Halleluia!
Thank you for your prayers. The effective, fervent prayers of the righteous avail much. We have seen it. We believe it. You are precious partners with us in the journey.
I am praying for you, too!
Glory be to Him who has loved us with an everlasting love. Amen.
