Less than two weeks into a New Year, 2 days into a new week, 4 hours into a new day, the challenges of life began to swirl in like a tempest.
Trouble came knocking, our double car repairs "whammy" became a triple "whammy" when the furnace died, and again we are forced to lay it all down and put life in perspective.
The natural mind says in frustration, "What next?" The trusting heart says, "When the enemy rushes in like a flood, God will part the raging sea!" Halleluia!
Jesus said, "In this world you will have trouble. Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world!"
Whether the challenges are physical, mental, emotional or spiritual, God is always ready to guide our path and provide the solution....rest in Him....wait on Him, stand still and be amazed. It may take some time, but what a Savior, what an absolutely capable Lord we serve!
He makes all things beautiful in His time. While I am waiting, I remember J.O.Y. ...Jesus Occupies You....my mind, my needs, my heart. He is all over it.....I am on His radar, and my eyes are set on Him.
Are you struggling today? Are you falling short or feeling under attack? Are you working it all out on your own, or have you turned it over to the Lord? We do our best, control what we can, contribute what we can, and leave the rest to Him.
Is your relationship with the Lord growing? Hard times and challenging experiences will certainly test your faith! But, we have a choice....fear or faith? Keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, His promise is to keep our hearts at peace. It wouldn't really be true faith if we never had opportunity to stand firm through adversity. I mean, I don't like it one bit, but I know there will be another wonderful God-story to share because of it. I know my God has me covered, and will show Himself faithful once again.
God has provided a way to have an ongoing relationship with Him which transforms us to live a new life, a life of true joy, a life with purpose, a life of peace, no matter what may come. Jesus is the Way.
Conversely, the godless rely on their own strength and the wisdom of the world, each of which offers no guarantees and is subject to change.
Perfection versus imperfection.
Eternal versus temporal.
Incorruptible versus corruptible.
The Lord says, "I will establish an everlasting covenant with you as my holy people, if you obey my commands and walk in my ways." Deuteronomy 28:9
That's enough for me.....how about you?
I would love to hear your comments!
