Jesus lacked nothing. He is God the Son. All power and authority is His alone. He is the author of life. He was there in the beginning and spoke all things into existence. Yet he cared enough for us to exchange His holiness and perfection for our freedom:
He was punished that we may be forgiven
He was declared guilty that we may be declared innocent
He was wounded that we might be healed
He became sin with our sinfulness that we might become righteous with His righteousness
He was rejected that we might be accepted
He bore our shame that we might share His glory
He was made a curse that we might enjoy the blessings of God eternally
He endured poverty that we might enjoy abundance
Our Old Self was put to death in Christ, that the New Man could come to life in us, the man humble, grateful and thrilled to live the life designed by Perfect Love.
Grace and truth are in Jesus Christ. Healing and life are His to give. He who never sinned, became sin for us, so that our future would be secure.
This song lyric is my prayer today:
"Lead me to the cross where Your love poured out. Bring me to my knees, I lay my burdens down. Rid me of myself, I belong to You, so lead me."
Thank you, Jesus, for so great a love, so great an exchange.
I bind myself to You, for You are all I need. Amen. Glory to You, Lord, Jesus Christ, Savior of the World!
Love this song: Mighty
Love this one, too! Mighty to Save
