Find Your Peace and Purpose In Jesus Christ!

Glow & Flow Some More!

I don't know about you, but tho' summer has just begun, it seems it is already over!  Between the mission trips for our boys, graduations, picnic invites, summer praise concerts and rehearsals, work and travel plans, I find myself crying out "Where did it go?"

I think I'm really crying out for a return to those "good ol' days" of youth when I had no responsibilities, no schedule, just long, lazy days to sit on the swing, ride my bike, visit a friend, and .......Wait a minute!  Wasn't there a good deal of moaning and groaning "I'm bored!" ????

Well, in anticipation of some of that at our house, I have tried to provide some activities for our boys, which usually involves me, too.  But, this feeling of being over-scheduled and very busy, even in summer got me to thinking about the sensibility and wisdom of our Sovereign Lord God Almighty who longs for time with us as He says:

"Be still, and know that I Am God."

Psalm 4:4 instructs us "Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still."

In Mark 4:39, in the midst of the storm, Jesus stood up in the boat  full of terrified disciples and rebuked the wind, "Peace, be still", and there was a great calm.

Are we listening?  Are we standing iin His peace?  Somewhere between the swimming and the picnics, let's be sure to still the noise, so we may hear His voice, allow Him to ignite our spirits to glow for Him, and flow as a calmly rolling sea each day.

Here's an idea......SCHEDULE YOUR GOD TIME!!!  Schedule your down time.

I know,  easier said than done.   But, it is reported that it only takes 21 days to create a new habit.   Make it a good one!

Hi Marcia,
That is awesome!! If anyone has an excuse to skip it, she does!
So, let's be inspired by her and realize, if she can do it, I can do it.
(But, I'm glad my God time doesn't have to be at 4:45am!)
Thanks for posting, Marcia. God bless.

Good thoughts, Lorraine. Having a less structured schedule in the summer does seem to make it harder to be disciplined about having God time. But I'm thinking that the summer will flow much more smoothly if I make that God time. A friend just shared with me that she has to be at work at 5:45 three days a week, so she gets up at 4:45 to make sure she has time to spend with God. Wow!
